This directive unequivocally targets all Private Lotto Operators (PLOs), their agents, and writers operating under the NLA’s purview. In a public notice issued on Monday, September 28, the NLA issued a stern warning: any operator found to be continuing with manual, paper-based systems beyond the stipulated deadline will face immediate prohibition from operating. Furthermore, such non-compliance will attract the full force of legal repercussions. “All PLOs, Agents, and Writers who fail to comply with this directive will not be permitted to operate and will face the full rigours of the law,” the NLA stated, underscoring the seriousness of the impending enforcement.
This mandate is a critical component of the Authority’s strategy to achieve a complete cessation of manual paper-based lotto operations. For Private Lotto Operators seeking to remain active in the industry, the NLA strongly encourages a transition to formal registration as Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs).
