Africa Judicial Experts Converge To Adopt Best Practices

Judges, professors of Law and experts in judicial administration across African continent have converged on Abuja to brainstorm on how to achieve best practices in the Criminal Justice System.

The three day Regional conference was to provide platform for stakeholders in judicial system in the Continent to exchange ideas, share knowledge and experiences in the Administration of Criminal Justice System.

Speaking at Conference, the Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Olukayode Ariwoola represented by Justice Centus Nweze, called for more involvement of Nigeria judges in such conference.

The Justice of the Republic of Ghana Justice Kwasi Anin- Yeboah, represented by Justice Nicholas Abodakpi, said judges and Judicial sector in the Continent required more training and funding for effective administration of criminal Justice System.

According to Justice Eva Kawuma, a Justice of Court of Appeal Uganda, there is need for innovation to enhance Justice dispensation in the judicial system.

The Director Juritrust Centre for Socio-Legal Research and Documentation, Professor Adedeji Adekunle, expressed optimism that the conference would provide progressive ideas on how to improve Justice system in the Continent.
The Theme for the conference is Consolidating Reforms in Criminal Justice and its Administration.
