Killaboi’s Trial: Uncle Testifies on Discovery of Augusta’s Body at Ajah Residence

At the Lagos High Court, Igbosere, the prosecution opened its case against Nnayereugo alias Killaboi, accused of murdering his 21‑year‑old girlfriend, Augusta Onuwabhagbe.

The first prosecution witness, Mr. Reginald Okonye, Augusta’s uncle, narrated how the family traced her to the defendant’s residence in Ajah after she stopped answering calls despite responding to WhatsApp messages. Led in evidence by the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution, Dr. Babajide Martins, Okonye recounted how Augusta’s mother, aided by her roommate and family friends, eventually discovered her lifeless body inside the defendant’s home.

Okonye testified that police officers from Ajah station accompanied them to the property, where he identified Augusta’s corpse lying in a pool of blood. He explained the steps taken to evacuate the body to the morgue and later gave statements at Panti SCID. He also confirmed that the defendant had posted online confessions admitting to killing Augusta after a quarrel.

Justice Ibironke Harrison admitted photographic exhibits tendered by the prosecution and adjourned proceedings to March 5, when Augusta’s mother is expected to testify.

The defendant, who was extradited from Qatar in April 2025 after evading arrest across several countries, faces a two‑count charge under the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015:

– Count One: Indecent interference with the corpse of Augusta by mutilation, contrary to Section 165.
