The President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, CFR in her desire to decongest the Court and ensure speedy dispensation of justice, has again set up special panels to sit at the Lagos Division of the Court.
Lagos State which can be said to be the commercial hub of the Nation, has had the Lagos Division of the Court filled with cases cutting across different matters.
Sitting alongside her Brother Justices, the Presiding Justice of Lagos Division Hon. Justice Jimi Olukayode Bada and Hon. Justice Danlami Zama Senchi on Wednesday, the President of the Court of Appeal welcomed learned Counsel to the special court session.
His Lordship appreciated their presence in Court, noting that the Court will try to take as many motions as possible while her Brother Justices would also be sitting in another panel of the Court.
During the session, the President of the Court advised Counsel to avoid holding brief for their colleagues on matters that they know nothing about.
The President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, CFR in her concluding remarks, appreciated Counsel for responding and being in Court despite the short notice they were given. She said the Court feels honored and that is how it should be.
Concluding the Special Court Sitting, the Presiding Justice of Lagos Division, Hon. Justice Jimi Olukayode Bada who appreciated learned Counsel for responding, urged them to continue to cooperate with the Court anytime it sits.
