The Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to restore and conduct elections in long-suppressed constituencies in Kogi State.
In his judgment, Justice Isah Danshan declared it mandatory for elections to be held in those constituencies, noting that they have existed since the creation of the state. He condemned the prolonged injustice and emphasized that the facts establishing their existence were incontrovertible.
Consequently, the court directed INEC to, without delay, ensure that elections are conducted in the restored constituencies during the 2027 general polls.
