Aluko & Oyebode, Nigeria’s leading full-service law firm, has announced a series of leadership changes that reflect the depth of its talent and its ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation.
After four transformative years as the firm’s first female Chairman, Kofo Dosekun is stepping down from the role. A trailblazer in Corporate and Commercial law, she helped build and lead the Corporate Commercial and Banking & Finance practices and was instrumental in the firm’s ascent to market leadership.
Dosekun will remain with the firm as Of Counsel alongside Founding Partner Gbenga Oyebode. Recognised as an Eminent Practitioner in Chambers Global 2025, her tenure advanced the firm’s reputation for diversity, forward-thinking leadership, and outstanding client outcomes. “It has been an honour to help shape the growth of Aluko & Oyebode,” she said, pledging support for the new leadership team as they take the firm to new heights.
Succeeding her as Chairman is Senior Partner Olubunmi Fayokun, a distinguished lawyer with four decades of experience advising top-tier domestic and international clients. A market leader listed in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame and the IFLR1000 Women Dealmakers Hall of Fame, she is widely recognised across Corporate Commercial Law, Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Financial Services.
Fayokun has led several market-defining transactions, including Nigeria’s first Additional Tier 1 Eurobond, the demutualisation and listing of The Nigerian Stock Exchange (now Nigerian Exchange Limited), and Diageo Plc’s divestment from Guinness Nigeria Plc. “We are shaping the future of legal practice in Nigeria,” she noted, emphasising a deep bench of talent and a relentless focus on excellence.

As part of the transition, Reginald Udom will step down as Co-Managing Partner effective 1 September 2025 after two terms of distinguished service. He helped steer the firm to global recognition, strengthened rankings, and drove international growth. Udom will continue to serve in a senior leadership capacity on the firm’s Board.
He is succeeded by Adeolu Idowu, a highly accomplished lawyer with nearly 30 years of experience spanning Private Wealth, Energy, Telecommunications, and Corporate Governance, with deep expertise in ESG, Data Privacy, Private Client, and Regulatory Compliance. Idowu will serve as Co-Managing Partner alongside Joke Aliu, forming a complementary team poised to advance innovation, client service, and strategic growth. “These appointments reflect meritocracy and strategic foresight,” said Founding Partner and Of Counsel, Gbenga Oyebode.
For over three decades, Aluko & Oyebode has delivered strategic, high-quality legal advice to multinational corporations, financial institutions, government bodies, and international investors on their most complex, high-value transactions and disputes. The firm’s comprehensive practice coverage and track record for excellence make it a trusted partner across Nigeria’s legal and regulatory landscape. As an integral member of ALN—an alliance of leading corporate law firms in 14 key African jurisdictions—the firm provides seamless, cross-border legal support across the continent.
