Gombe Magistrate Court Remands Constabulary Officer for Alleged Criminal Intimidation
A Chief Magistrate’s Court No. 12 in Gombe State has ordered the remand of a constabulary officer, Idris Salisu, over alleged criminal intimidation.
The court, presided over by Chief Magistrate Musa Wadachi, gave the order on Thursday following Salisu’s arraignment on a charge of criminal intimidation under Section 396 of the Penal Code Law.
The prosecution counsel, Aliyu Ibrahim Garba, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence in July 2026 at about 1pm.
Garba alleged that Salisu went to the Barunde Police Outpost, where he picked up a knife and threatened to kill two police officers, identified as ASP Sule and Inspector Peter Joel.
He said, “The defendant went to the Barunde Police Outpost with a knife and threatened to kill two police officers, ASP Sule and Inspector Peter Joel.”
The prosecutor said the alleged offence contravened Section 396 of the Penal Code Law.
When the charge was read and explained to him, the defendant pleaded guilty.
The court subsequently ordered his remand and adjourned the case until November 9, 2026, for hearing.
