President Tinubu Welcomes NBA President-elect Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya to State House
President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday welcomed the President-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mrs Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, during a courtesy visit to the State House in Abuja.
She was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Caleb University, Prof. Foluke Dada-Lawanson; the President of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria, Mrs Ezinwa Okoroafor; the FCT Lead of the NBA Women Forum, Princess Hadiza Afegbua; and the Publicity Lead of the BBold Campaign Team, Mrs Ramlat Ridhwan.
The visit comes ahead of Badejo-Okusanya’s formal assumption of office as the next President of the Nigerian Bar Association.
Badejo-Okusanya was recently elected as the 33rd President of the NBA after securing 9,891 votes in the association’s national election.
Her victory makes her the second woman to lead the Nigerian Bar Association, following Chief Priscilla Kuye, who served as the association’s president between 1991 and 1992.
She is expected to officially take over leadership from the outgoing NBA President, Afam Osigwe, SAN, during the association’s Annual General Conference scheduled to hold in Enugu next month. Her tenure will run for two years.
